The Amico family opened Trattoria Bella Roma S.P.Q.R. in June 2007. Chef Roberto began his culinary training in Rome in the 80s, then in Munich Germany in the 90s. After moving to Los Angeles, he worked at Marino's, Clafoutis and Cafe Midi.
His wife Lisa is an Indiana native with a film production background. She bakes the Midwest desserts like Vanilla Bean Cheesecake, Sugar Cream Pie (for you Hoosiers, it's better than Mrs. Wick's!) and seasonal favorites.
Their daughter Francesca is a hockey player and can often be found working as the Hostess during the weekends and holidays.
The "SPQR" found in the business name is to say that we are proudly Roman, but more specifically big fans of the A.S. Roma Serie A team, and we have lovingly chosen to add a mural of "San" Francesco Totti #10 to our wall out of honor and respect to the greatest soccer player of all time. Our opinion. ;-)
The Family Amico, along with their beloved staff of awesome people, welcome you to their culinary home!
